The BruBotics Rehabilitation Research Center (BRRC) is a state-of-the-art interdisciplinary Core Facility at VUB, strategically located near UZ Brussel on the Health Campus and incorporating the Brussels Neuromuscular Biomechanics Lab (BNB, Etterbeek campus).
The BRRC Core Facility specializes in human movement analysis and technology-supported rehabilitation research, equipped with advanced biomechanical and physiological measurement devices. By integrating the complementary expertise and infrastructure of both campuses, the center offers cutting-edge technologies such as robotics (including lower-limb exoskeletons), extended reality (VR/AR), and advanced biomechanical measurement systems.
Our mission is to develop and validate innovative rehabilitation technologies for people with neurological disorders such as stroke, Parkinson’s disease, and multiple sclerosis, as well as for those recovering from injuries or surgeries and for promoting healthy aging in older adults.
The BRRC Core Facility provides extended services for academic, medical, sport, and industry partners, including gait analyses, full-body high-speed motion analyses, as well as specialized expertise in the neuromechanics and anatomy of movement and movement disorders.
